Watch the Tides
Such a great area for boating and outdoor fun is the gulf and intercoastal waters around both Bradenton and Sarasota County. We love to pull up and enjoy Coquina Beach as well as Beer Can Island. The one thing you need to keep an eye on is the tides, which can be very strong moving in and out of the pass. When you anchor your boat up to the beach or sand bar areas, just keep a good eye on it and don't leave it unattended for any lengthy period of time. I have seen people make that mistake and when they returned to their boat it was deeply buried in the sand. If the tide goes out, your boat can be left high and dry. Just something to keep in mind when you check out one of the best boating spots in Sarasota County.
