Beach Bars & Restaurants

clearwater beach

Clearwater Beach has a nice choice of restaurants to fill your palette, and it boasts some of the area's best beach bars. There is plenty of seafood, and with places like Frenchy's Saltwater Cafe and Palm Pavilion, you get the added bonus of experiencing live music right out on the beach. It is a great way to enjoy the sunset after a day of leisure at the beach. There is also Crabby Bill's, just a short walk from Pier 60. Just behind Crabby Bill's, you will find dollar drafts at the Clearwater Municipal Marina's local dinning spot.

Another tasty choice is Bob Heilmann's Beachcomber. Enjoy an evening of culinary delights at this first class restaurant located across from the Clearwater Beach Hilton. And for those who want to enjoy the party scene, head south about 1/2 mile from Pier 60, to Shepard's. You'll find an outdoor tiki bar, and an atmosphere that really gets its groove on. Expect live music, lots of dancing, and a great beach bar that caters to boats, and is truly boater friendly for those cruising through Clearwater Pass.

In addition to all the fresh seafood and beach bars available, you'll also find a sprinkling of pizza parlors, British food, an Internet cafe, and homemade breakfast cafes. There is plenty of variety for eating and drinking in Clearwater Beach, and its all in close proximity to the beach.

Beach Bars

The hot new drink at the beach bars in Clearwater is called a Tropical Frappe. Frozen and lushes, this is a wonderful drink and I asked for the recipe. Now I serve this at dinner parties and sunset cruises.

Tropical Frappe

- 6 oz. passion fruit juice
- Two tbs. cream of coconut
- One cup pineapple chunks
- One ripe yellow banana
- Ice cubes
- Ground cinnamon

Put it all together in the blender, with exception of the cinnamon. Mix it and make it thick, adding ice to do that. Then just serve in tall glasses with straws. Garnish with cinnamon and fresh fruit. Yummy!

East Shore Resort

Staying at the East Shore Resort on Clearwater Beach was a great time, a wonderful family beach vacation. We partied each night, loving all the options along the entertainment district. There must be more beach bars around Clearwater than any other beach town I can think of. Perhaps only Fort Lauderdale has an equal share of waterfront bars and restaurants. Frozen drinks along the beach are just the best.
