Whether you're still planning or ready to go, we've got plenty of advice and tips to help you make the most out of your Cocoa Beach Getaway.

It is best to arrive early. Parking lots do fill up, especially during the summer months. | |

Bring a cooler. Bring sandwiches and cold drinks, and you won't have to miss a minute of the day. If you forget something, there are plenty of convenient stores and shops on Atlantic Avenue and a Publix across the street from the Cocoa Beach Pier. | |

Bring an umbrella. If the sun gets too hot, you can relax in the shade of a beach umbrella. You'll also want to bring a radio, or a good summer novel to read. | |

Wear sandals. The sand gets hot, especially in the summer, so make sure to bring sandals to wear. You'll need them when you walk down to the water's edge. | |

Wear sunscreen. Protect your skin from sunburn or more serious ailments by applying plenty of sunscreen before you relax on the beach. Also bring an extra t-shirt to wear, if the sun gets too hot. | |

Check the Space Center's schedule. Cocoa Beach is a terrific place to view a launch of the Space Shuttle and other rocket missions. The Kennedy Space Center website has a list of Shuttle launch dates, so if you can, be sure to visit during a launch. | |
