It is the City of Tampa, with its progressive downtown, scenic waterfront views, and vibrant cityscape. This area has plenty of culture, is outgoing with its year round activities, and has so many places to go, sights to see, and things to do.

Tampa Questions or Comments
Tampa in Forbes
Did you see that article in Forbes where they ranked forty major cities and how well young professionals do in that particular city? Tampa did not do very well in many categories, for instance, a recent college graduate in Tampa earns nearly three percent than the national average. The cost of living was not good either, coming in last with the lowest salary to cost of living. That is a problem, and the exclusive living in south Tampa probably does not help.

Lowry Park Zoo
A great family outing, Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo offers thousands of animals, housed in lush and natural habitats. Kids will love the unique interactive experiences as you can feed giraffe, stingrays, and lorikeets, and take a ride on a big camel or pony.
Light Rail System
Apparently, Tampa is getting a little closer to adding light rail to ad the mass transit system. Atlanta has had the MARTA system for twenty years, so it is about time. The transit manager was on talking about regional goals, and creating a unified vision for all. The new vision will focus on reducing traffic over the next 10 years and 20 years beyond. Governor Criss signed into law a seven county focus to help the vision, of reducing traffic. Congestion is getting worse for sure. Over the last fifteen the travel time has increased 115%. The seven counties elect a member and the vision board will be created. So it is all just starting, but nothing has happened yet.

Hotel Floridian
What's New in Tampa - Great news for downtown Tampa, as the Hotel Floridian is finally being renovated. Just saw a Fox News report outlining the history and future of the hotel. They are using a guy that is about 90 years old "Gus", and he is pointing out the details. The renovation is designed to bring back the hotel to the same style and condition as it was in 1926.
Davis Island on Extreme Makeover Home Edition
Watching TV tonight I ran across the Tate's, who had a airplane crash into their Davis Island house. So now Ty and the home improvement gang brought their TV show to improve their slice of real estate on Davis Island Florida. They had no insurance and the jet fuel just exploded on the home. Extreme Makeover Home Edition has come to the rescue right here in South Tampa. The Tate's got lucky, as they rolled in on their RV down Bayshore Boulevard and woke them up with the blow horn. While they fixed up the real estate, they went to costa rica on vacation. What a nice episode of Extreme Makeover Home Edition. The Tate's and Tate's Pizza will never be the same. Great show, giving Davis Island a lot of publicity.
