The Eagles Golf Club

Welcome to Tampa's biggest and best public golf course, The Eagles Golf and Country Club. A great low cost golfing alternative, this club features two distinct courses, for 36 holes of links to play. A Tampa golf tradition, the Tampa Bay community has been enjoying the Eagles since the 1970's. It is centrally located, as it borders both Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties, and is only about 15 minutes from Pasco County. Come out and enjoy a great day of championship golf at the Eagles!

Eagles Golf Course

	The Eagles has a great area to warm up, with a putting green, chipping area, and driving range.
	Here is one of the signature holes, a waterfront island green on the sixth hole of the Forest course. This green is the first you will see as you drive into The Eagles main entrance.
	The Club plays host to numerous tournaments throughout the year, with door prizes, music, and more!
	The carts are peppy and have special covers that will help keep you and your clubs dry if it happens to rain.
	As you drive down Nine Eagles Drive, you will quickly recognize the outstanding maintenance and upkeep of the course.
	Inside the clubhouse is a nice dining area, with wide-open views of the course.
	This gentleman has landed in the sand trap, but ends up and down in two.
	Whether you play the Lakes or Forest course, both have nice fairways, with uniquely distinctive twists and turns.
	The Eagles itself is also a great residential real estate community, close to both Westchase and Waterchase.
	Water, water everywhere! Bring some spare golf balls, as the course has an abundant array of lakes, making it a bit challenging.

Public or Private

Q: Hello, I was going to drive over from St. Pete Beach to play, and just wanted to check and see if it was private or public. Is there not a guard gate at the entrance? It is about midnight now, and I figured no one would answer, so I wanted to shoot you over an email. Shoot me back a message whenever you can. Oh, thanks for the map link, that made it easy to figure out which way to go. I remember that area, you turn at Nine Eagles Drive, right next to Sweetbay.

A: Hey Diane, you are right on, as the Eagles community is gated and guarded 24 hours a day. But we do this to keep the bad ones out, not the golfers. This is a huge residential development as well as a public golf club. Yes, both of the courses are public. Enjoy your round.

Eagles Water Holes

Just really enjoyed our golf outing at the Eagles. We had a corporate golf match play day, and the course was just perfect. One thing to know is that there is a lot of water on the two courses. That of course means lots of balls going in the water. Be careful, the ponds and lakes around the Eagles golf course do have gators, so watch out if you try to pull your ball out of a lake.

Power Golf Driving

The pro at the eagles gave me a couple of nice tips on driving a golf ball. (1) Be sure to flex your knees slightly and maintain the flex as you rotate your torso through the swing. Rotate your torso, hips, and legs, as your spikes grab the dirt. (2) Twist into and fully up through the ball releasing all of your natural body weight as you power drive through the shot. (3) Let out a big smile after your back swing has completed. Checkout the length of the holes on the Eagles Course Map, and you need to be able to drive the golf ball deep and straight.

Divot Divas

Just to the north of Eagles Golf is a nice practice range, the home of Pro Golf. They have some really nice golf clinics there, which is about a mile south on Race Track Road. Range balls are about as cheap as you will find, so we often stop there to warm up for Eagles Golf.
