Fort Desoto Park Questions or Comments
Park Parking
We go all the time, and what is amazing and great about this beach park is (1) it is free to park (2) the parking very rarely fills up. You can't say that about Clearwater Beach, not free and jam packed.

What to See
This was originally a military post, released in about 1925. So the thing to explore is the fort. You get a great view of the water and the beaches from the top part of the fort. Also, be sure to walk out on the piers, filled with folks fishing. The other key area not to miss is Fort Desoto North Beach, wow what a top rated beach zone.
