The Dunedin Causeway is a 2.5-mile route that leads from Dunedin directly to the entrance of Honeymoon Island State Park. The causeway is lined on each side by water, and free parking is available directly on the sandy beach. It is a terrific destination for fishing, watercraft activities, and sunbathing. It is also a very popular place for windsurfing, because the breeze and position of the land makes it ideal for this sport.
The causeway has an open boat-launching policy. You can trailer and launch small boats directly from the beach at no cost. This is extremely popular with locals, which is why you will find so many types of watercraft (wave runners, sailboats, kayaks, etc.) in the area.
