Good Fishing Here

honeymoon island

Whether navigating by boat or from the bridge the Honeymoon Island waters hold snook, red fish, spotted trout, flounder, and many other saltwater species. There are plenty of fishing options for the boater (inshore, grass flats, channels, or offshore) and non-boater alike (off bridges, pilings, shoreline, or docks). Bring your bait and pole, as your fishing choices are wide open.

Fishing the Pass

Talking to local anglers, they said the fishing is good here, but varies with the seasons. One a local, Sam Ryan, suggested to: "Try around Bunces Pass, located on the east side of Honeymoon Island and much of the deep grass between Anclote Key and the mainland shore. Fish the dock areas for red fish and the barrier islands for snook and trout".

Beach Boat Ramp

If you have a small fishing boat, the causeway has an open boat-launching rule, as you can trailer and launch small boats directly from the beach at no cost. This is extremely popular with locals, which is why you will find so many types of watercraft (fishing boats, wave runners, sailboats, kayaks, etc.) in the area.
