Best Boating in Florida, Inside Fort Desoto Park

Some of the finest boating in Florida begins at Pinellas County's largest boat ramp, at Fort Desoto Park. With over twenty lanes to launch, you can typically get in the water without waiting. The water around the Fort is very nice and clear. The area has a tropical island feel, as coastal views highlight the white sand and towering australian pines lining the shoreline. Boating the various islands and Egmont Key is extra special and not to be missed!

	We really enjoy the boating from this ramp, as you surrounded by nice island spots to check out.
	You will find all sorts of watercraft launching here, from small jon boats to the monster sized yachts.
	Expect good fishing and lots of people trying to land them. These guys just returned from fishing the backside of Egmont Key.
	The area is very scenic and popular for those folks looking to relax around the great Florida nature.
	On the weekends, there are many boats that come out and meet up with their other boating friends. Be careful when anchoring around the channels, as anchoring can become beaching your boat before you know it!
	Water skiing and tubing behind the boat is just so much fun.
	It is the biggest ramp area around. Just behind you see the Pinellas Bayway and to the left is Cabbage Key.
	If you come out with kayaks, canoes, or even small boats, there are many places along the Bayway that you can launch from.
	Pinellas County charges five dollars to park your vehicle after you launch. Look for the pay station along the entrance way.
	The ramps are surrounded by wonderful Fort Desoto picnic areas.
