Love the area and the water
It does get rough out here so be careful when the weather turns negative. A lot of folks seem to think that their small boat can handle the rough conditions. Having the weather on the Google phone sure does help.

Use the Barometer for Fishing Improvements
Very sweet, this is a unique adventure for marine life discovery. We love to fish when the barometer is conditioned to be on the rise (pre- storm, fronts, wind shifts, etc.). We have good luck out on the way to North Captiva.

The one lane Bokeelia Boat Ramp is located in North Pine Island and provides great access to Cayo Costa, Matlacha, and Boca Grande Pass. Limited parking is the main issue here and you need to call ahead.
