Key West Has Great Historic Attractions

Everyone seemed to really enjoy the tour at the Audubon House in old town Key West. You learn about the builder, John Geiger, a harbor pilot that specialized in shipwreck salvage. Inside you get to view lots of James Audubon Paintings, these are just amazing. What an excellent way to learn about pirates, Key West nature, and the lives of those before us. Heck, this is what the island of Key West is all about.

Educational Attractions for All Ages
The Hemingway Home does a nice job also of getting into the city's unique history. There you can take a guided tour of his estate and walk through the tropical gardens. Yes, it celebrates one of the top Writers of Key West.

What? No Running Water in Key West!
We liked it a lot (us adults) and the children (ages 5 & 9) a bit less, since they just want to snorkel and bicycle ride. The Audubon Staff does a really good job of explaining the details and history. Nice and relaxing, you get an educational overview of the life of those making home here back in the day. Compared to them, we have it made!
