One thing we've learned about marathon is how great the restaurant scene is. While there many fine restaurants to try on US1, some of the real gems are tucked away and primarily used by locals. Typically, these also have better prices. We passed up Key Colony Beach many times and it took years to find Breezes Cafe.
Weekly Rentals on Key Colony Beach This town has nice residential vacation rentals, we got one that has a pool in the backyard. Get a pool if available. Some are on open water, instead of on a canal. Get a good price, and make sure it has Internet and washer/dryer.

Vaca Key is so Nice for Vacations Fun spot for middle keys playtime by the ocean. You should consider Key Colony Beach, it makes for a great vacation stay.

Good Spot for Splashable Play The view is nice and cool music here in Key Colony Beach. We had an issue with the pool closing so early...come on please make it 11pm or later. We are enjoying the Keys Life.
