Once you understand the history of the Charter Boat Row, it becomes much more interesting to see and tour the area. In the 1990s people would park their boats right along Ocean Drive and pretty much where ever they wanted. Yes, people live in houseboats all around the city, where a spot of shoreline or sidewalk met the water. It looked very bad on the city and the new location was formed, for all to see and remember.

Watch your head walking around Key West!
Those boats were horrible back years ago. It was all over the news. The waterfront has been cleaned up. The city got rid of tons of coconut trees and replaced them with look a like palms, so that storms don't drop them out on the streets. When the wind pumps to 30mph or so, coconuts start to drop.
