The park opens early (around 7am or so) and that is the best time to check it out. Anytime is good, but at that time of day the winds are typically very calm and you can see so much marine life right next to the path. The park has a kayak launch area, which would even be a better way to absorb the Sanibel Island nature.

Ding Darling Guide Map Ok, I looked at the map. I think it is too far to park in Ding Darling and tour it and Tarpon Bay on the kayak. We want to make the best use of your time and get the most action that you can during the day. The park is excellent, it is a good investment.
