When you're biking around Key West, your eyes are always looking parallel to the road. Many people walk, drive, or pedal past the historic lighthouse and don't even see it up there. You'll see the sign on the entrance and then you will look up. See if that is not exactly what happens to you. It is a good tour, I love the details behind neat landmarks such as this.

So Much to See on the Island We like taking the self guided tours, which speeds up the process of visiting most of the local attractions. Member Helpers are there to answer any questions you have about the Lighthouse and other area history spots to see.
Climb to the Island's Tallest Spot You learn neat details about its history (constructed in 1847) and tour it at your own pace. So cool is how it was used by ships navigating dangerous reefs off the Lower Florida Keys. Pick a nice day, as you go up the circular iron stairway to the lighthouse deck. Way up top, see far away and out over the Atlantic Ocean.
