At the eastern tip of the island is the very best of the Sanibel Island Beach Parks, Lighthouse Point Public Park. Home to the famous building that was used to help ships make it into port for centuries. The City of Sanibel officially took possession of the historic lighthouse in 2010 and began the process of preserving it for future generations.

The area is so rich in tradition and sustained with the help of many local residents. Our lighthouse has a goal of excellence, and plans are in the works to improve it. The city has set standards designed to protect the lighthouse and give it a brighter legacy on this beautiful island.
