SMATHERS BEACH

Plenty of Room for Everybody

We really like this beach. And I believe that the Travel Channel rated it number four last year, as part of their top 10 Florida beaches episode. On the weekends, it can get busy, but never at a level that is overbearing. There is just so much going on on this island, it spread to every body out very thin. One day you are at the beach, and very likely the next day you are going to be doing some other form of sightseeing, we loved reef snorkeling off the Sebago Catamaran.

Decent Beach with lots of Watersports Rentals
Smathers Public Beach has restrooms, outdoor showers, white sandy volleyball courts, two lane boat ramp, and watersports rentals.

Scenic Places along the Waterfront
This is a wonderful way to spend the day, just enjoying Smathers Beach in Key West. The scene here is very laid back. The beach is beautiful and the water is quite nice. Be sure to bring your snorkel gear so you can see some fish as you wade in the shallow water.
