Lovers Key State Park boundaries are Big Carlos Pass to the north and New Pass to the south. Until the early 1900s, these tropical islands were accessible only by boat. Boating is still a passion to be enjoyed to the fullest.

This is living a Florida dream! Yes, kayaking or canoeing in the natural waterways and streams is top rated water fun. These waterways are naturally fed by the gulf and inner bays. It is pristine, and the perfect spot to pass times at the park.

On your journey, be sure to stop by some of Southwest Florida's most popular boating destinations: Fort Myers Beach, Bonita Springs Beach, and all of Estero Island. Select from waterfront dining, boater friendly tiki bars, or neat sand bars to anchor around.

Lovers Key Park provides over two solid miles of white sandy beaches on the Gulf of Mexico. Take your pick of Estero Island fun and the wide variety of recreational water related opportunities. We really like the water-life viewing, fish catching, backwater kayaking, and long beach walks.

Here is the famous Southwest Florida Dog Beach, one of just a handful of beaches in the area where dogs are permitted. This Florida destination is rated number #1 by Florida dog owners. It is just beautiful!

You can really enjoy yourself cruising slow, just taking in the scene. If the boat captain goes too quickly, the passengers will be on him to chill on the throttle. The water between Fort Myers Beach and Bonita Springs is top notch eye-candy. Dolphin sightings are an hourly occurrence.

Small boats rule the waters around here. The small size lets you get into the backwater areas, where the nature is outstanding. An encounter you will want to repeat again, and again.

What a vast beach zone. It is so natural, an escape from the everyday norm. You can walk or bike on over five miles of island trails, some that follow right along the Inner Waterways of Estero Island.
