Fishing on the Lake

Fishing

Lake Tarpon offers great freshwater fishing throughout the year. Anglers at all levels can snag a variety of freshwater catches, including bass, blue bream, stripers, speckled perch, and catfish. Primary fishing areas are found among the weeds and cattails, which rim the shoreline. Offshore humps and submerged vegetation are productive areas where fish will school and feed.

Largemouth Bass

If you are lucky, 10 pound bass are not an unusual charm for anglers fishing on Lake Tarpon. Many of the locals follow a catch and release philosophy, therefore, a method really helping the length of life and size of the Lake Tarpon bass population. The truth is, many of those fishermen probably are catching the same fish again and again.
