There is no need to head to Key West, as southwest Florida has a boating oasis which is just as good...Yes, it is the the wonderful water that surrounds Pine Island. So if you are looking to catch some tarpon, bonefish, or a big hammerhead shark, then you have found the spot. Just watch the fishing shows on TV during the weekends, as a big majority feature Pine Island's and its rich fishing heritage.

	The fishing docks are busy with captains and the crew gearing up for a day on the water.
	Here is the Tarpon Lodge, a classic in Florida history, dating back to 1926. The lodge is well known for its great charter fishing and the picturesque sunsets.
	Pine Island has some great waterfront restaurants. A great place to come by boat or water is the Double Nichol Pub, on the south end at St. James City.
	Pine Island boating covers a big area, from south of Charlotte Harbor, Boca Grande, and the islands of Cayo Costa, North Captiva and Sanibel.
	We just love walking out on the docks and enjoying the views.
	The restaurants around Pine Island, from St. James City to Bokeelia are so unique. Try some of the local places to really get an experience.
	The folks are enjoying their vacation in style and staying on the northern tip of Pine Island, in Bokeelia.
	The entire area is scenic, with a quiet and laid back attitude, which is part of its charm.
	How is the fishing Captain Mike? Super, as the spanish and king mackerel are just off shore. Also biting are the pompano, flounder, and the tasty sea trout.
	Here is a couple from Cape Coral on a day trip to St. James City. They came to enjoy the Waterfront Marina and Restaurant.

Winter RV Stay

Q: Just had to write you a note and tell you about our experiences this winter, as we stayed for two months at the KOA on the southern end of the island. It was just too cool. The fishing, boating, and kayaking around the area was very, very nice. Most of our kayaking and boating started from the Matlacha Community Park and Boat Ramp. Bait fish was very easy to find and catch with the cast net. Boca Grande is just a paradise, what can I say. Also, we took the boat over to Fort Myers Beach, as that is the party spot around the area. Our favorite beach shelling was at Sanibel Island and Captiva. You can also pull up at Captiva and dock right there at the South Seas Plantation. Just a few thoughts, all good for sure!

A: Super to hear about all the fun. The RV Parks around the island and even up and down Lee County and Sanibel Island really fill up in the winter. The weather in southwest Florida is a big part, but you get some much boating and beach action fun. The folks that live in Cape Coral are the luckiest in SW Florida.
