Enjoy Florida's Fun Accommodations
Resorts to Enjoy
The Focus: Interesting and Fun Resorts
We love to travel around Florida, to see all the great places, nature, events, and attractions, its great. However, part of the necessary ingredients to make a great weekend getaway or extended vacation is a relaxing and fun place to stay. A hotel or resort that is consistent, interesting, and fun, is equally as important as the intended destination.
After a long day at the Miami Zoo or beaching it in St. Augustine, you want to feel at home in your hotel. Great service if you forget something, a wonderful pool to lounge around, clean bathrooms, or help with directions are just to name a few. What follows are some of the really fun resort hotels that strive to go the extra mile. And don't think that a great getaway stay has to be expensive. So both moderate and more pricey accommodations are part of what we have reviewed and enjoyed. Happy travels!
Fun with Nostalgic Music
Pop Century Resort
We love music and Disney has come up with a great way to enjoy it and even made it value priced. It is Pop Century, where your eyes will discover giant sized statues of each decade gone by: Bowling Pins, Rubik's Cube, and a Big Wheel Tricycle. The resort is located pretty close to their Wide World of Sports Complex and MGM Studios, and has plenty of on premises fun, mostly geared towards families and children. With three nice pools (Computer Pool, Hippy Dippy Pool, and Bowling Pin Pool), a children's playground, two arcades, biking trails, walking paths, and complementary bus transportation to all of Walt Disney World. Beachside Fun, Elegance, and Romance
Don Cesar Resort
Towering up from the shores of the Gulf of Mexico is a historic hotel known as the "Pink Palace". When you see the hotel you will know why. We love this the Don Cesar Resort, built way back in the 1920s and remains the crowning landmark of St. Pete Beach. The pink palace was built right on some of the most beautiful shoreline in Florida. It is a hot beach spot for sure.
On the beachside grounds are two wonderful pools, a poolside grill, restaurants, and all kinds of beach activities for your enjoyment. In addition to all the pampering and luxury, the resort is surrounded by a series of fun island style towns with beach bars, seafood, shopping, and lots to see and explore. There is so much to do both at the resort and this great little beach town. We just love all the dining and shopping options. (more)
The Spirit of the 1940s Lives
Boardwalk Inn
This is your chance to reminisce the nostalgia and charm of the 1940s Atlantic City Boardwalk District, right in central Florida, at Disney's Boardwalk Inn Resort. This is one of our favorite hotels, with carnival sights and ragtime sounds, lakeside, on the beautiful and entertaining BoardWalk. And wait until you see the pool, which is crowned with a nearly 200 foot roller coaster slide plopping you into a gigantic pool and play area.
The resort has all of the fun activities that you can expect from Disney, plus you are so close to lots of dinning and entertainment options. Walk, bike, or take a water taxi as you explore all around Disney World. A great choice for active couples and families. (more)
