Our Famous Island Oasis

This is a gorgeous tropical island located in the Gulf of Mexico, off the coast of southwest Florida. It is a magnificent place to vacation, with first class resorts that blend beautifully with the natural foliage of the island. There are no high rise buildings here, and no traffic lights either. The living is easy, the weather is wonderful, and the atmosphere is simply fantastic. This is an island fun spot you will thoroughly enjoy.

	Swimming pools and palm trees line the Gulf coast along the stunning beaches of Sanibel. This island retreat offers so much to do. For those who want to relax, there are plenty of spots to take it easy and do nothing at all.
	Ah, this is a boater's paradise, as there are many little waterways to discover, and some of the finest open water in all of southwest Florida.
	Sanibel has many lovely, upscale shops for you to enjoy during your stay.
	Everyone likes pizza on vacation, and this is one of the venues where you can get it.
	There are bike paths throughout the island, and it is so much fun to ride and explore. You get good exercise too, who can ask for more?
	If you get hungry while bike riding, this is a terrific eatery to take a break, and have a tasty hot dog.
	Sanibel is the land of shells. You will find many unique shells here, just by walking along the beach.
	This little girl prepares to go for an afternoon bike ride. Sanibel is a vacation wonderland.
	Tennis anyone? There are many courts to play at, in various locations throughout Sanibel and over to Captiva.
	Biking is what helps make this getaway so distinctive. If you want to relax, but also want to play, Sanibel is the place to stay.

Biking Around the Island

Q: Hey, We were trying to determine if it was worth it to bring the bikes down. Yes, normal bikes, the kind you peddle. We have so much stuff to bring for our trip, and it just might not be worth it. Here is what we have planned.

We are driving down from Macon Georgia. Stopping first in Orlando, and staying for 3 nights at Disney's Polynesian Resort. Going to hit International Drive, Epcot, MGM Studios, and the Magic Kingdom. Then we head south to Lee County, staying for five nights at Holiday Inn Beach Resort off Middle Gulf Drive. Are bikes good, or will we just be too busy doing all the tourism and tourist related things? Thanks for any ideas.

A: Bring the bikes, and you won't be mad that you didn't. However, if space is limited, you can rent bikes at the Polynesian Resort and the Holiday Inn Resort. However, if you like to bike, you are in for a treat. The best biking in the world is at Disney. We love to bike around in the evenings and after the fireworks. Park the car once you reach the hotel in Lee County, as well. Both spots have bus service, so when you don't feel like riding, you get to let the bus driver handle things for you. Just my thoughts. Oh, you do want to swing over by car and checkout Fort Myers Beach, a great spot. Please call or write us back and let us know how it went on your trip to great Florida fun.

Sanibel Boating

A couple of the nicest places to go boating around Sanibel Island are Cayo Costa State Park and Pine Island Sound. You can bring your own, rent a boat, or take a charter. Definitely the best thing to do on the Island, be sure to try it on your next vacation.
