Downtown St. Petersburg

Here is a great view of the Pier, as you peer over the big boats next to the Yacht Club.

Sightseeing...Continued

Don't miss enjoying a warm sunny day simply strolling through this scenic area. A variety of museums are home to downtown St. Petersburg including the Museum of Fine Arts, Museum of History, the Florida International Museum and the Salvador Dali Museum. The Gallery Central District along Central Avenue hosts a wide range of art galleries, antique shops, and cultural crafts.

The Pier & Baywalk

The Pier is a 5-story inverted pyramid building located at the end of a 2,400 feet extension over the water. It hosts several restaurants, shops, an aquarium, and an observation platform that provide a contemporary setting for dining, entertainment, shopping, and sightseeing.

BayWalk is a open-air plaza that includes both familiar establishments, such as Ann Taylor, and those that are exclusive to Florida. Entertainment options include a large Theater complex and lots of neat bars and restaurants.

Activities & Sports

The area is a veritable sportspersons' paradise! It's ideal for boating, camping, diving, snorkeling, fishing, jet skiing, golfing, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, water skiing, swimming, or just sipping a cold beverage in the pool!

If you are a sports enthusiast, you are in luck. The Tampa Bay Devil Rays play baseball at Tropicana Field in downtown St. Petersburg. Across the Bay, you are within 30 minutes of both the Tampa Bay Buccaneers football and Tampa Bay Lightning hockey teams.

Area Attractions

We took our first visit to Sunken Gardens, right here in St. Petersburg on 4th Street. If you are trying to landscape your yard, it is really worth getting an annual pass. You can tour the grounds and get lots of neat landscaping ideas for plants, trees, bushes, and shrubs. Everything here will grow just fine in the real estate in Old Northeast and Snell Isle.
