Atmosphere

tarpon springs

For a small town, there is a lot going on in Tarpon Springs. This is a fabulous tourist spot, and a great place to bring the family for an outing. You'll see lots of kids walking with Mom and Dad, and retirees having fun with their Grandkids. The atmosphere is laid-back, and will make you feel like you're in Greece. There's usually a breeze in the air, which just adds to the cultural ambiance.

About Tarpon Springs

If you go during a nice weekend or during a summer sunset, the streets can be very busy with locals and tourists. The locals tend to focus on heading straight to their favorite bar or restaurant. You will know the tourists, as they move slowly through the shopping and dock areas. It is new to them so they need to take in the sightseeing. During the weekdays, things are very calm with only mild foot traffic.

Great Thing to Do

This is a great day trip, and you will find the quaint fishing village that is just the place for shopping, dining, and waterfront bars. There are tons of little shops, the Castle Winery, a historic district, and boat rides.
